Esalen Guest Practitioners

Below is a list of our guest massage practitioners. (Please see the list of regularly available massage practitioners.) We also offer alternative bodywork modalities in "Room 23," which include Craniosacral work, La Stone, Rolfing, Shiatsu, Thai massage, Cortical Field Reeducation and others.

Ann Mehling - I like to give a complete and thorough massage, giving attention to every part of the body to obtain a sense of wholeness and completeness in the dimensions of body, soul, and spirit. My massage integrates various techniques (such as Deep Tissue, Trager, Trigger Point, energy, classical) into one continuous flow. My hands are, for me, the medium with which I can convey unconditional acceptance, loving attention, healing touch, and presence.

Christiane Muehlich - In my massage, I focus on relaxation and well-being through the use of deep nurturing contact, presence, and flowing movement. I combine gentle stretches with long integrative strokes to assist my client in opening energy pathways, increasing awareness, and letting go of holding patterns.

Lucia Horan - I am a practitioner who was born and raised in the community and tradition of Esalen Massage. My sessions are a balance of deep work, which includes cross-fiber friction, pressure points, and full body stretches. I search to balance this with the essence of long strokes that are traditional to Esalen Massage. I include a subtle energy work called "laying on of hands," a Brazilian energetic work. If you are interested in this specifically, please let your request be known.

Reynolds Wehrman - With sensitivity and open heart, I welcome the opportunity for contact through massage. My skills combine detailed deep tissue work with receptive, listening hands, allowing for an integrated experience on many levels.

Susan Gries - My intention is to honor the sacred connection between the body, soul and spirit with an open heart and a loving presence. My sessions are a dynamic flowing dance, reminding the body of its fluidity and innate wisdom. I incorporate my years of experience in Esalen massage, Craniosacral therapy, deep muscle work, Thai massage, long stretches, and balancing of the energetic bodies.

Please Note - Esalen Massage is a flowing, integrated modality of bodywork that invites the body to open. Through this modality, our practitioners are dedicated to making deep contact with each client. Practitioners will also attempt to accommodate specific requests and preferences within the Esalen Massage modality.
